Exit 41 has its roots in the Byesville, Ohio area. It began in 2005 mainly being used as a worship band for several central Ohio area youth rallies. During the spring and summer months the band grew and branched out and played other venues, such as local fairs, festivals as well as more church functions. During there time in Portugal they led worship services with the youth of the area churches.
Exit 41 plays its music to glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We passionately desire to lift His name high and exalt the work he has done in each of our lives. Our prayer and desire is that God uses our music in many lives for His glory and not our own.

Band Members Bios

Joshua McManaway grew up and currently lives in Cambridge, Ohio. He has been playing music since he was 10. He started out playing drums and he eventually started playing bass and then guitar. During high school he played in many ensembles such as, the Meadowbrook High School Competition Band, Jazz band, Pep Band and Lids. In 2001 he started playing in bands outside of school and joined the Brian Sweeney Project. The styles of music that he enjoys are Classic Rock and Christian Rock. His influences come from Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, John Mayer, and Relient K. He is currently attending Malone College and he is majoring in Commercial Music Technology. Josh spends most of his time managing Exit 41 and writing/arranging songs for Exit 41. He plans to go on tour and spread the word of God through his music, then eventually end up owning a studio and a venue.

Cam Secrest, guitar, Emily Box on the piano, and a great group of teens who wanted to get up and sing. Nick introduced Nate to Josh McManaway, whom he attended school with, and Josh began to play bass for the group when he could. After many successful Wednesday nights, Nate, Nick, Cam, Josh, and Emily began practicing in Cam's basement, getting songs together...thus birthing what became Exit 41, which would move to do several shows during the summer of 2006. After a few readjustments and much prayer, the Exit 41 that you know today came about. Nick and Emily left the band to pursue other musical aspirations, and Rick joined as a temporary fill-in on the drums, with hopes to find a drummer so he could play guitar. That drummer came in the form of Jordan Morrison, whom Josh had met at Malone College. Exit 41 has made it a goal to bring others to Christ through their music, and rejoices when they see a new person join the family of God. It is their desire to serve God in all aspects, and make music that glorifies Him.

Nathan Davis grew up in the Toledo, Ohio area for most of his childhood. In high school he studied voice under Mr. Don White at the University of Toledo. Nathan is married to Jamie and they have 3 wonderful kids together - Alexandra, Abby and Benjamin. In the fall of 2005 Nathan moved to the Byesville area to begin his ministry as worship and youth pastor for Calvary Baptist Church. He and his family moved from the Cumberland, Maryland area where he was a youth minister and worship pastor. Nathan considers his influences musically to be artists such as Steven Curtis Chapman, Chris Tomlin, Charlie Hall and Matt Redman. He enjoys listening to Lou Graham sing, and wishes he had the pipes to sing that high. Nathan is also influenced by the preaching of James MacDonald, Tommy Nelson, and his Father. He considers the greatest piano player in the world to be his mother, who gave up a promising career to give life to her family. Lastly, Nathan is driven by the fundamental principal of Love, Seek and Know - Love, Seek and Know God, your family, and the place he has put you at present to minister.

Charles Richard Sills Jr., affectionately known as Rick, grew up in Byesville, Ohio. He began his music career as a drummer, playing in band at school, and playing in several bands with various people. Bands Rick has played with include Soundcraft and The Brian Sweeney Project. Rick began playing the guitar in High School, and quickly fell in love with it. He began studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston during the fall of 2006. However, God led Rick back to Ohio, where he is currently a student at Malone College, studying Music Performance. Rick joined the ranks of Exit 41 in the early parts of 2007, first as drummer, then moving to lead guitarist/comedic relief, where he intends to hang out for a while. Rick finds that he is influenced by Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Eric Clapton, John Mayer and Jonny Lang.

Cameron Secrest, a native of Cambridge, Ohio, began his musical career as a drummer. He later picked up the guitar, and began playing at church with the praise and worship team, and with Josh, Emily, and Nick Box in a youth combo. Cam is a graduate of John Glenn High School and is currently attending Malone College as a Commercial Music Technology Major. In high school, Cam studied music theory with Mr. Paul Hudson, which led Cam to begin playing the piano. An original member of Exit 41, he holds his own as the rhythm guitarist. Cam also plays an important role in song writing, collaborating with Nate, and writing some of his own songs. His influences include Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, Switchfoot, The Beatles and Relient K. With his mother, Joyce, father, Mark, and sister, Markie, behind him 100%, Cam enjoys studying music at Malone and is excited to see what's in store for Exit 41.
